GOP Chairman Visits Zanesville

A prominent republican made his way into the Y-City.

GOP Chairman Michael Steele stopped by the Republican Headquarters in downtown Zanesville Tuesday evening as a part of his ‘Fire Pelosi’ bus tour, which is traveling to 48 states. Steele is encouraging Ohio voters to elect republican leaders.

"I think we have kind of put down a few markers for the public to sort of sense what this new republican leadership is going to bring to the table," said the GOP Chairman.

Steele says republicans will focus on real issues Americans are facing if they are put into office in January 2011.

"The question then is less on what republicans will do but whether or not the administration is really serious about moving the country towards job creation, moving the country towards a better healthcare policy, moving the country towards a better energy policy which means we take cap and trade off the table, that’s just bad public policy," he said.

He says there is a lot at stake and ultimately the decision lays in the hands of the voters.
