Muskingum River Still Rising/Flood Threat Remains

The Muskingum County Emergency Management Agency says there is widespread flooding in our area. E-M-A Director Jeff Jadwin says the Muskingum River is still rising and poses a threat in terms of flooding. There are some main roads closed and a long list of back roads that are under water and also shut down. The county engineer’s department has been out all night placing high water signs in the county. Jadwin says there have been multiple rescues overnight including one on Darlington Road and another on Limestone Valley Road. There were also three drivers rescued on State Route 16 at the Coshocton County line. There have been no injuries reported. Jadwin says they are not sure when the river will crest, but the lack or rain should improve the chances by sometime this afternoon.
