Christ’s Table Celebrates Valentine’s Day

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Christ’s Table is spreading the love this Valentine’s Day.

The dining room was decorated with balloons from Kroger to show off the celebration. All guests at Christ’s Table were served a hot meal and were also able to leave with a goody bag made by members of the Eastside Community Ministry to take home.

“We just want to put a big thank you out there to Kroger who donated Valentine balloons and some flowers. We had a donor come in with cards for all of our home bound people. And a big thank you to Eastside Community Ministry, their youth program put little goody bags together for those that we serve. So we want everybody to have a happy valentine’s day,” said Executive Director of Christ’s Table, Keely Warden.

Warden said it was magnificent to see the community come together to help others on a special holiday like today.

“Valentine’s Day is not an easy day for everybody. I mean, if you have somebody in your life and you wake up, you have a warm home, a hot meal, and somebody to love, Valentine’s Day is a great day. But for those that we serve not everybody wakes up with those things every morning. So for the community to come together and know that it’s important for everybody to have a sweet treat, it makes us very happy,” she said.

Meals are served daily at Christ’s Table, if you are interested in volunteering at the organization call their office at 740-452-9766.
