Primrose Community’s Random Acts of Kindness Day

NEW CONCORD, Ohio – There are more than 30 Primrose Retirement Communities across the country, and Friday they are all observing their Random Acts of Kindness Day.
The Zanesville Primrose Retirement Community was at Muskingum University celebrating the day by handing out goody bags to the University students. Primrose Zanesville got involved with the idea three years ago and it has been a big success. Life Enrichment Coordinator at Primrose, Tammy Grayson, said this was a great way to get residents out into the community and to carry out good deeds.
“We just are always looking for various project to do in the community. I just think it’s very important that we don’t stay just within our facility, that our residents are willing to just go anywhere and do just about anything,” said Grayson.
The bags contain a bottled water, chocolate bar, package of peanuts, and peanut butter crackers. Primrose residents hope this makes the students’ day feel special. One Muskingum University student says this inspires her to pay it forward.
“I think it’s a great thing. I wasn’t expecting it today, I was just in the library. And I just think it’s great to have them out here and just paying it forward. It helps me cause now I’m more likely to go do something today that I wouldn’t have done before seeing that,” said Sammie Brown.
The residents handed out a total of 40 bags, and included in 30 of the bags was also an Amazon gift card.
