Investigation of Alleged Assault of 7th Grader at ZMS Continuing

The Zanesville Police Department says its Zanesville Middle School resource officer is continuing to investigate an alleged assault of a 7th grade student. Chief Tony Coury says a report is being compiled on the complaint and will be handed to the Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office for review. Assistant Superintendent Steve Foreman says the Zanesville City School Administration continues to cooperate with law enforcement as they investigate this situation and currently await a report on the case. In a Facebook post the mother of the student, Robin Galigher, says her son was shoved into a urinal and roughed up. Galigher says her son was also urinated on by another student. The 7th grader also suffered a black eye.
