24th Annual Taste of Color Event

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Bringing the community together through food.
The 24th annual Taste of Color event took place at the Zanesville Civic League Community Center. People were able to join together and socialize and eat a variety of foods such as ribs, dirty rice, meatballs, corn bread, and pies. The event also featured talent performances, door prizes, and an award ceremony.
“Twenty four years ago when they thought of this, they thought of different vendors of food, different kinds of foods. We had African vendors here, it was really big back then. And we just kept adding on and adding on,” said Executive Director of Zanesville Civic League Community Center, Lisa Rooks.
Rooks said they started planning for this event in December. Putting together the menu was the main focus. After all the planning, this event is meant to be enjoyable for the entire community.
“I just think it’s fun. Once we get started, once we have prayer. It’s fun for everyone,” said Rooks.
The event took place from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., and tickets were only an $8 donation.
