“State of the City” Address Given By Mayor Jeff Tilton

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Community members were invited this evening to attend the “State of the City” address given by Mayor Jeff Tilton.
The “State of the City” address’ purpose is to look back at the accomplishments of the city over the past year, but also looking at certain areas of improvement. Mayor Tilton said he believes Zanesville has moved forward with public infrastructure, public safety, community and economic development, and creating an efficient government.
“City government is only one major piece of this community. for the first time in a long time, you are seeing everyone literally working together. I’m fortunate to be the mayor of this city, while there is an unprecedented level of energy, cooperation, and progress from all sectors,” he said.
The plans for the next year include strategies for housing, parks and recreation, and working on revising the design guidelines for historic downtown. Another important plan he said is the approach to city council on the funding for an authorized construction of a Downtown broadband and wifi service.
“I pledge that I will keep working every single day to make zanesville a better place to work, live, and raise a family. tonight, I have documented how we have planned and built projects that are in the foundation of moving this city forward,” he added.
Mayor Tilton made it a point that he is committed to always delivering safety for the city and providing job opportunities.
