Princess Blessings 2019

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – Picking a prom dress is one of the most exciting opportunities for high school teens.
Young girls stress over finding the perfect dress while parents tend to stress over the cost. That’s why Becky Clawson created the Princess Blessings event six years ago.
“I have a crew of volunteers who help me collect, clean, repair, bling up dresses for local girls in need. We just want to give girls in our area the chance to go to prom and feel special and grown up and give them that experience of that wonderful night,” Clawson said.
The purpose of this is to help make the high school girls pick out a special dress and to help reduce the cost burden on their families. Every year there are 100’s of dresses donated to Clawson for the event.
“It’s really heartwarming and my volunteers, I think this is their favorite thing all year. They get so excited about it. Last year we sent between Muskingum and Perry Counties, I sent about 150 girls to prom or homecoming with a dress from my collection,” Clawson said.
Clawson is asking for gift card donations for girls to get their hair done. You can contact her through the “Princess Blessings 2019” Facebook.
Once prom is over, Clawson asks for dresses to be donated back to her for future events or to another young girl. The Welcome Center is hosting the event on Saturday, March 2nd from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
