Picking out the Perfect Dress at the Princess Blessings 2019

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – While some members of the community spent part of their day talking plants, others were buying their dream dress.
The 2019 Princess Blessings took place from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 2nd at the Muskingum County Welcome Center. Vicki Vance has been volunteering for the event for 6 years, since the very beginning.
“We’ve gathered about 500 dresses and inviting all the kids to come out and find the perfect dress for them to wear to their prom or homecoming,” Vance said.
When the young girls walked into the welcome center they got the chance to look at the different dresses, try them on and pick the very one that caught their eye. Vance talks about her favorite part of volunteering for the event.
“Seeing the girl find her dress. There’s no better feeling in the world than matching the girls with her perfect dress. A lot of times they come in and they look very skeptical like why am I here and then they see their dress, they try it on and just knowing that someone that maybe wouldn’t have had a prom dress found her dream dress is a great feeling to be a part of,” Vance said.
25 girls from four different school districts got to go home with a new shiny and sparkly dress.
