Devoll Pleads Guilty to Murder

A Zanesville man accused of killing a homeless man in the city has pleaded guilty to one count of murder.

In front of Judge Kelly Cottrill 29-year-old Dannie Devoll entered the plea to one count of murder. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered in the case. Devoll is being held without bond pending sentencing.

Zanesville Police said Devoll was originally indicted for aggravated murder and two counts of tampering with evidence. Police say on July of 2018 Devoll caused the death of 29-year-old Eric Stevens, who was found injured in a parking lot on Putnam Avenue. He died later at the hospital. Stevens, originally from Marietta was considered homeless.
