NEW LEXINGTON, Ohio – Perry Behavioral Health Choices Inc. invited the public to their Black Balloon Day and Open House of their New Lexington sites.

The Black Balloon Day is an event where the community recognizes the lives lost due to drug overdoses. The event featured speakers, a walk, and a music program. Along with the Black Balloon Day, all of their sites were open to the community as open houses for tours and information on the services they have to offer.

“It’s community awareness of what we do. A lot of people in the community, as small as we are, still don’t know what we do. They know we buy up a bunch of buildings in New Lexington and Perry County, but they don’t know what we do with them and the kind of services that we’re providing,” said Assistant Director of Residential Services, John Dodson.

Clients who take advantage of the facilities receive residential and outpatient services. They are able to take classes and counseling throughout the morning, nursing assistance, and a check up with a physician every day.

“Our line of work, people don’t always understand the people that we’re dealing with. We have families in the community that have been affected by overdoses and just addiction period. We really open up our buildings so that they can get an understanding of what we’re doing,” said Assistant Director of Outpatient Services, Renea Dodson.

Perry Behavioral Health Choices Inc. has a total of eight New Lexington sites including their newest facility and Withdrawal Management Program, ClearView.
