Car Show At Colony Square Mall

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – If you had the time to zip on by the mall, you might have seen dozens of race cars on display.
The Stock Car Show took place this weekend at the Colony Square Mall. There were more than twenty race cars being showcased for the public to check out and learn more information on. Along with the Stock Car Show, a canned food drive was going on to support a local church as well. The purpose of the Car Show is to attract people to racing and inform people on the sport, and how they can get involved.
“To bring the fans back to racing because like I said there’s a lot of them, kind of dwindled it away. And we’re trying to get everybody back, and Midway is trying to bring fun back into racing,” said Track Helper, Shawn Hartman.
CJ Kinneer is a 15 year old racer, who has been racing for seven years. He was inspired by his father where he was surrounded by the racing environment starting at a young age. Kinneer said he would like to see other young kids find the interest in racing, and spoke of his goals for the future.
“I hope to end up being a NASCAR driver, that’s always been a big dream of mine. Race with all the big names; Kyle Busch, Jimmy Johnson, all those people,” Kinneer said.
The Stock Car Show encourages everyone to continue to support their local tracks and speedways.
