Zanesville Surgery Center Now Genesis Based Service

The Zanesville Surgery Center in Zanesville is changing. The joint venture operation with Genesis and community physicians is now going to be a hospital-based service. The new name of the facility will be the Genesis Surgery Center. The restructure will facilitate intergration with Genesis’ overcall surgical services. It aligns with the strategic plan to redefine the scope and core business of Genesis in order to improve ways the health care system can best service the people of our community.The restructuring will also enhance financial performance in response to health care reimbursement changes that seriously impact independent ambulatory surgery facilities. Established in 1999, the center initially was operated as a joint venture equity model between Genesis HealthCare System and 35 local physicians.
