Auxiliary Somerset Police Officer Facing Drug Charge
The Perry County Sheriff’s Office says it has arrested an auxiliary Somerset Police Officer on drug charges.
Sergeant Kevin Starrett says that on Tuesday 33-year-old Joseph Daley of Glenford was charged with one count of aggravated trafficking in oxycodone.
Daley was picked up at his home in Hopewell Township around 5:15 pm by detectives after an undercover drug sale involving bulk amounts of prescription medication occurred inside the village of Somerset.
Daley was immediately removed from active duty by Somerset’s Police Chief and is being held in the Muskingum County Jail on a $50,000 bond.
He will face a preliminary hearing next week.
Starrett says more charges could be filed at a later date.
