Monday Hearing Set For Accused Cop Shooter
The man accused of shooting a Zanesville Police officer and his K-9 partner will have a competency hearing on Monday. Dominic Conley is charged with 12 felony counts in connection with the shooting of Z-P-D Officer Mike Schiele and Police Dog, Bosco. The hearing will determine if Conley will be evaluated to establish that he was criminally insane at the time of the accused shooting incident. It will also decide if the suspect can plead guilty by reason of instanity. The 19-year-old is charged with shooting the offcers. a kidnapping and holding six people at his grandfather’s home on August 23rd, 2008. If convicted Conley could face 100 years in prison.
