Downtown Zanesville Accident Sends One To Hospital

A two-vehicle accident in downtown Zanesville sends one person to the hospital.

Zanesville Police say earlier Saturday evening, a Ford Escort heading westbound on Main ran a red light causing a Dodge Ram pickup heading southbound on Fifth to hit the right rear side of the Escort causing extensive damage.

Police say both drivers were claiming they were traveling around 30 miles per hour. A young male was taken to Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital. His injuries are unknown as the accident remains under investigation.
