27 Years of Benefiting Cancer

For 27 years the annual dance and twirl cancer benefit has brought people together to raise money for a cure.

Sunday at Foxfire High School dancers and twirlers gathered to put on a show for family, friends and judges. Though the dancers were having fun they have this benefit for one simple reason.

"There are so many families touched by cancer," said supervisor Pat Payne.

Not as many dancers turned out as in year’s past but Payne says there still was a good feeling in the air this morning with a wide variety of dances.

"We have duets we have solos and in dancing we have a wide variety of tap, ballet, jazz, gymnastics, hip -hop, and Irish," said Payne.

The dancers received trophies and a score card after the performances
