Barn Fire1

The Wayne Township Volunteer Fire Department is investigating the Thursday  morning fire of a barn.  Chief Don Alexander says it happened at 8:15 at 2310 South River Road.  The owner of the structure is Richard Paul.  The Chief says when his crews arrived on the scene the attic of the barn was on fire.  Alexander says a tractor, some other equipment and tools were lost in the blaze.  He says there was around $20,000 in damage.  Alexander says the cause of the fire appears to be electrical. The roof of the barn was destroyed and there is smoke and water damage to the second and ground floor.  The South Zanesville and Harrison Township fire departments assisted on the scene.  There were no injuries reported.
