Bernie Kosar Visits Dresden
Tri-Valley’s high school stadium was packed with fans hours before Friday’s football game.
Former Cleveland Browns quarterback Bernie Kosar stopped by a pep rally to meet kids from Dresden Elementary. Kosar said he was there to promote the NFL’s Play 60 initiative.
"With technology – computers and TV, you get a lot of people sometimes that don’t go outside and don’t exercise," said Kosar.
Kosar said his goal is to get kids off the couch and spend at least 60 minutes each day being active. He said it’s important to teach children healthy habits.
"It’s a lot more fun being with kids than adults," said Kosar. "You can have a positive influence on kids. They’re not predisposed in their ways, and if you’re able to have a positive influence on them, it makes me feel good about being able to help them out."
Dresden Elementary has entered the NFL’s Back to Football Friday contest to win a $10,000 grant for the school.
