Maxine K. Sheck (November 19, 1922 – November 15, 2011)

Maxine K. Sheck, 88 of Zanesville , OH died 5:50 PM Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at Autumn Health Care Zanesville.

She was born November 19, 1922 in Zanesville, OH. Maxine was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church , a graduate of Meredith Business College, and had worked as a secretary for The Ohio Company. She retired in January of 1987 as Deputy City Auditor for the City of Zanesville after 10 years of service. She had enjoyed playing cards, bowling (having scored a 300) and traveling.

She is survived by four sons: Stan (Bethany) Sheck of Columbus; Steve (Lisa) Sheck of Marble Falls, TX; Gary (Janet) Sheck of Nashport; Tony (Bobbi) Sheck of Pickerington; one daughter, Sue Sheck of Coshocton; 11 Grandchildren Patrick M. Sheck, Megan Boorman, Matthew Boorman, Derek Sheck, Tabitha Perkins, Cameron Rasmussen, Eric Sheck, Patrick R. Sheck, Katie Sheck, Ali Sheck, Jared Sheck , and two great granddaughters.

Preceded in death by her father, Raymond Kessler, mother, Cora Pryor, step-father, Harkace Pryor and her husband, Stanley Albion “Al” Sheck, an infant daughter and special friend Barbara Lee Greulich.

Friends may call Thursday Nov 17th from 2-4 & 6-8pm at the Hillis & Hardwick Funeral Home, 935 Forest Ave. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM on Friday, November 18, 2011 at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church 144 North Fifth Street Zanesville OH with Dominican Fathers as celebrant. Burial will conclude in the Mt. Olive Cemetery Zanesville OH .
