Dorothy J. Urban (March 5, 1923 – December 18, 2014)

Dorothy J. Heslop Urban, 91, of Zanesville, died at 1:05 P.M. on Thursday, December 18, 2014, at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House. She was born March 5, 1923, in Muskingum County, a daughter of the late Everett and Gertrude Dairs Heslop. She had worked in Advertising for GE for 28 years, was a member for 40 years at Central Trinity United Methodist Church, was a Past President of VFW Post #1058 Ladies Auxiliary for 2 years, and was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Post #29.

Surviving are her husband of 53 years Kenneth Edward Urban, whom she married January 22, 1962; a daughter Patricia (Jim) Jardine; a son Larry (Gayle) Lutgen of Florence, SC; a step-daughter Marilyn (David) Romine of Zanesville; five grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; six step-great grandchildren; two great great grandchildren; five step-great great grandchildren; a sister Evelyn Polland of Zanesville; and a half brother Robert (Ruth) Heslop of White Cottage.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her step-mother Ann Heslop; and a sister Betty Munyan.

Friends and family may call from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Sunday, December 21, 2014, at BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, and one hour prior to the funeral service which will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, December 22, 2014, with Dr. Steven L. Fewell and Rev. Tom England officiating. She will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville.
