Roy Richard Pierce (October 12, 1936 – April 18, 2015)

Roy Richard Pierce 78 of Moxahala passed away on Saturday April 18, 2015 in Zanesville. Roy was born on October 12, 1936 to the late Lloyd and Dorothy Reed Pierce. He retired from maintenance at Lempco in New Lexington after 44 years of service. Roy was a dirt track stock car driver for many years and enjoyed motorcycles and fishing. Roy served our country and protected our freedom in the US Army.
He is survived by his wife Peggy Bowen Pierce of the home, two sons Gary Pierce of Moxahala and Todd (Shona) Pierce of Corning, two brothers Merle(Sharon) Pierce of Rose Farm and Jerry (Sue) Pierce of New Lexington, Five grandchildren: Matthew, Monica, Kylie, Kyle, and Tessa, Three great-grandchildren: Riley, Brantley, and Lilly.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Charlene Barrett and a brother Clifford Pierce.
Calling hours will be 2-4 and 6-8pm on Wednesday April 22, 2015 at Oak Field Baptist Church in Oak Field. Funeral services will be at 11am on Thursday April 23, 2015 at the church.
