Dorothy E. Smith (January 9, 1924 – April 25, 2014)

Dorothy E. Smith, 90, of Zanesville, died at 9:59 P.M. on Friday, April 25, 2014, at Autumn Healthcare of Somerset. She was born January 9, 1924, in Macksburg, a daughter of the late Clarence Orville and Sarah Mendenhall Lowther. She was a member of First United Presbyterian Church, graduated from Meredith Business College and retired from Good Samaritan Hospital.

Surviving are a son, David (Molly) Smith of Zanesville; a daughter, Dianne (Richard) Trout of Nashport; and three grandchildren, Brandon D. Smith, Jamie M. Smith and Ryan Dulin.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth M. Smith, who died in 1982; a sister, Pauline Thomas; and two brothers, Harold and Paul Lowther.

Friends and family may call from 11:00 A.M. till service time at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, with Rev. Tom England officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved Kenneth at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville.
