Grace E. Patterson (August 13, 1922 – January 31, 2011)

Grace E. Patterson, 88 of Zanesville , OH died at 3:25 AM Monday, January 31, 2011 at Avow Hospice in Naples, FL following a sudden stroke.

She was born Sunday, August 13, 1922 in Zanesville the daughter of Bernard and Virginia (Mason) Hawxhurst.

She retired from Kramer Shoes. Grace was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed playing golf, bowling, and was an avid bridge and scrabble player.

Grace is survived by three daughters Susan (Daryl) Hartman-Nill of Newark, Nancy (Jerry) Butler of Bonita Springs, FL and Tammy Morrow of Zanesville; two sons Greg (Curtis Wilson) Guinsler of Phillipsburg, NJ and Clark (Kim) Patterson of Zanesville; 7 grandchildren, Eric Bailey, Lisa McCloy, Tyler Hartman, Zack Patterson, Alex Patterson, Kelsey Morrow and Nikki Morrow and 7 great grandchildren. Two siblings Mary Dollings of Zanesville, Joe Hawxhurst of Reynoldsburg, sister-in-law Maxine Hawxhurst of Bloomington, IN and numerous nieces, nephews and friends including special friends Cathy and Anne.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband: Norman L. Patterson and a brother Bernie Hawxhurst.

Friends may call from 3 to 7pm Friday February 4th with funeral service to follow at 7pm at The Hillis & Hardwick Funeral Home, 935 Forest Avenue. The family will also receive friends from 2 to 5pm on Saturday February 5th 2011 at Grace’s home.
