THOMAS WAYNE COEN (December 22, 1947 – June 17, 2011)

THOMAS WAYNE COEN, 63, of Philo, passed away June 16, 2011.
Tom was born December 22,1947 in Canonsburg, Pa the son of the late Okey and Mildred L. (Angerer) Coen. Tom was a 1965 graduate of Philo High School and attended The Ohio University Zanesville Campus. Tom retired as a self employed contractor having built numerous buildings from Greenhouses to homes and pole buildings to log cabins; he also worked at the Ohio Ferro Alloy in Philo and Burnham Boiler in Zanesville. He was an avid Harley rider and loved driving his John Deere Tractor. He was a member of the Philo United Methodist Church. He was a life time member of VFW Post #1058 where he served as quartermaster, American Legion Post #29, Eagles #302, AM Vets #51 in Thornport and VFW #4713 Motorcycle Club in Malta and he served with the American Legion Color gaurd. Tom served his country in the US Army serving as Helicopter Crew Chief mechanic during the Vietnam War.
Tom is survived by Danette L. Ore; special sons Glenn and Mike Ore of Philo; his brothers Clarence (Sally ) Coen of Sonora, Harley “Vern†(Ellen ) Coen of Blue Rock, John “Lee†(Sherry) Jones of Canonsburg, & Dave (Pam ) Coen of Zanesville; his sister Beverly Coen of Rocky River, Ohio; many loving nieces and nephews including his youngest niece Bridgette (Mike) DeCastro and his youngest nephew Christopher Coen and several loving great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents Tom is preceded in death by brothers Shirl Coen, Glenn Coen, Allen Coen, Edward Coen & Arthur Coen.
Visitations will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 Saturday June 18, 2011 and 2 to 4 pm Sunday at the Thompson-Farus Funeral Home, Duncan Falls, where funeral services will be 11 am Monday with Rev. Darla Revennaugh officiating. Burial will follow in Duncan Falls Cemetery with Full military honors by George Selsam Post #1058.
