Margaret Thelma Bryan, 95, of Zanesville, Ohio died at Genesis Morrison House Hospice on Monday, Aug. 1.

Margaret was born in Noble County, on Jan. 3, 1916 to Albert E. and Sarah Elizabeth (Sadie) Palmer. She attended Belle Valley High School and married Cash Danford Bryan on April 25, 1934 and they celebrated 69 years of marriage until his death on June 5, 2003.

Margaret was previously employed by Mosaic tile and retired from Zanesville High School as supervisor of the cafeteria, a job she loved.

Known for her beautiful flower gardens and skill of growing African violets, she was an excellent cook and baker, and loved to entertain.

She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Couples Sunday School Class and a previous member of the Soroptimist Club of Zanesville.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her only sister, Louella Cooperrider on June 29, 2010.

She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Jan and Ed Hall, of Zanesville and Jean and Warren Dillon of Cincinnati. Grandchildren include Julie Cole and husband Tom Kihl of Milwaukee, Wisc, Todd Dillon of Cleveland, Ohio, Debbie and Paul Miller of Florence, Ky. and Jeff Hall of Columbus, Ohio. Her five great-grandchildren include, Kate, Dillon, and Bryan Miller of Florence, Kentucky, Ben Cole of Tempe, Arizona, and Abby Cole of Milwaukee, Wisc. A nephew and his wife, Dan and Linda Marks and several cousins also survive.

Calling hours will be held from 6:00-8:00 pm on Thursday, Aug 4 and 10:00 -11:00 am Friday Aug. 5 at Bryan & Snider Funeral Home 2318 Maple Ave. where funeral services will be held at 11:00 on Friday with Rev. Joy French and Rev. Mitch Reed officiating. Committal service will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
