Billy G. Holzschuher (August 1, 1947 – November 2, 2011)

Billy G. Holzschuher, 64, of Zanesville, went to heaven to join his parents Raymond W. and Mary E. Beckert Holzschuher, brother: Philip N. Holzschuher, special nieces: Tammy R. Hayes Davis and Kristal Hope Davis on Wednesday November 2, 2011 from Genesis Morrison House Hospice after a 22 year battle with heart and kidney failure.
He was born August 1, 1947 in Zanesville. Billy spent most of his life in Dresden where he attended Jefferson High School and was in the first class to graduate from Tri-Valley School District in 1967. He was the classmate who chose the Tri-Valley school colors of black and gold. He retired from McDonalds Restaurant after 26 years. Billy wishes to thank Robert Fellars for giving him a chance in life and believing in him.
Billy lived a very caring, loving and simple life and was the mentor to his special nieces: Tawnya (Roger) Willey and Tiffany Hayes, special nephews: Darrin (Stephanie) Hayes and Dustin (Amanda) Hayes they all looked up to him like a second father. He was cared for by his only sister Becky Hayes. Billy was baptized in Immanuel United Church of Christ and was never married.
Billy was a very avid sports fan and could tell you anything you wanted to know about sports. He loved Ohio State Football, crossword puzzles and trivia, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family.
Billy leaves behind a caring sister: Becky Hayes of Zanesville, brothers: Francis (Shirley) Holzschuher of Dresden and Raymond “Butch†Holzschuher of Zanesville and John (Linda) Holzschuher of Ozark, Missouri, aunt: Mildred Keslar of Zanesville, great nieces: Jessica Davis, Kelsey Davis, Elizabeth Davis, Carli and Cadence Hayes, great nephews: Nicholas Hayes, Christopher McMullen, great great nephew: Bryce Chidester, great great nieces: Aubrey and Kayley Chidester and numerous other nieces and nephews and cousins throughout the United States. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
The family would like to thank all the doctors and nurses who cared for Billy over the years.
Friends may call from 4:00 PM till time of service at 6:00 PM today Friday November 4, 2011 at the Bryan & Snider Funeral Home 2318 Maple Ave. with Pastor Mitch Reed officiating. Following Billy’s wishes a caring cremation will follow services.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that contributions be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
