Esther “Janie” Pickrell (June 2, 1949 – December 29, 2011)

Crooksville-
Esther “Janie” Sidwell Pickrell, 62 of Corning passed away at her residence. Janie was born June 2, 1949 in Zanesville to the late Otis and Evelyn Clawson Sidwell. Janie retired from United Technologies after working at Somerset Quality Care and Ketchum Nursing Home. She enjoyed quilting, crafts, gardening, playing cards with her siblings and spending time with her family. She was a member of Portersville United Methodist Church.
Janie is survived by her sons: J.R. (Nicki) Pickrell of Moxahala and Jared Pickrell of Corning; daughters: Jodi (Jody) Seals of Crooksville and Janet (Larry ) Lucas of Corning; her brother, Randy Sidwell; sisters: Regina Thomas, Arlene Dawkins, Marlyn Milner, Mary Russell and Beverly Cinquelpalmni, six grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Janie was preceded in death by her husband Joe Pickrell Sept. 16, 2011, brothers: Charles Sidwell, Gary Sidwell, Bobby Sidwell and sister, Ardith Breese and nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be 2-4 and 6-8 P.M. Mon. Jan. 2, 2012 at the CROOKSVILLE CHAPEL SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 207 BURLEY ST., CROOKSVILLE. Funeral services will be Tues. Jan. 3 at 1:00 P.M. in the funeral home with Rev. Mary Perani officiating. Burial will follow in Zion Cemetery at Portersville.
