Edward R. George (August 13, 1954 – February 24, 2012)

Edward R. George, 57, of Zanesville passed away on Friday, February 24, 2012 at Genesis Morrison house.
He was born August 13, 1954 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Earl R. George and Helen Matzak George.
Ed was a pressman for Gannett (Times-Recorder and Newark Advocate) for more than 40 years and a member of the Elks Lodge #114 and the Zanesville “What’s the Score†Tennis team; he graduated from Zanesville High School in 1972 and Methodist by Faith.
He is survived by his wife Kathleen (Grubb) George whom he married September 22, 1984. He is also survived by his loving daughter Ashley George, brothers Marvin (Carol) George, Kenneth George, Robert (Sue) George and Bryan George, sister Marlene (Gwen) Elkins. Also surviving are his in-laws Linda Ely, David (Deb) Grubb, Keith (Sherrie) Grubb, John (Julie) Grubb, Nancy (Steve Bible) Agin, Elissa George and many nieces, nephews and friends.
The family is being served by the BRYAN & SNIDER FUNERAL HOME, 2318 Maple Ave. Where visitation will be Monday, February 27, 2012 from 4-8 pm. Funeral service will be Tuesday, at 11am, with visitation beginning at 10 AM, Rev. Mark Matzke will officiate. Interment will follow the service at Zanesville Memorial Park.
