George O. Klies Jr. (December 10, 1931 – February 28, 2012)

George O. Klies, Jr., 80 of Clarksville, MD passed away February 28, 2012

George was born on his parents farm in Chandlersville, OH the son of the late George O. Sr. and Augusta (Miller) Klies; He graduated from Ohio University (Athens) and served in the Army during the Korean War. After the Army he became an employee of the National Security Agency headquarters in Ft. Meade, MD. He retired as a Senior Executive of NSA in 1988.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sally F. Klies; loving father of Suzanne Klies of Laurel, MD, George O. Klies III of Clarksville, MD and Amy Nevius (Jerry) of Delaware, OH; his sister, Evangeline Jordan (William D. Sr.) of North Royalton, OH; his brother, Charles Klies (Joan) of Chandlersville, OH; a brother-in-law Larry Williams; his grandson, Parker Nevius and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his parents, George is preceded in death by his sister Marion Williams of New Lexington, OH

His hobbies included antiques, auctions, reading, crossword puzzles and especially enjoyed socializing with colleagues, family and friends.

Visitations will be 11am to 1pm Saturday March 3rd at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls, OH. Burial will follow in Chandlersville Cemetery with Full Military Honors provided by George Selsam VFW Post #1058.
