Esther Ruth Wickham (July 17, 1916 – July 13, 2012)
Esther Ruth Wickham, 95, of Zanesville, formerly of Roseville, passed away at 7:38 p.m. Friday, July 13, 2012 at the Muskingum County Home, where she was a resident for 8 ½ years. She was born July 17, 1916, in Crooksville, a daughter of the late Elza and Ella Dawson McHenry. She had worked at McCoy’s, Friendship, Cookson and Rose Potteries. She was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Roseville. She was a farmer’s wife, loved to play cards and was loved by all those that took care of her at the County Home.
Surviving are three children, Jane (Ernest) Moody of Zanesville, Lyle (Edith) Wickham of Lancaster and Marilyn Owens of Martin, TN; four brothers, Bernard McHenry of Crooksville, Gilbert McHenry of Roseville, Wilbert McHenry of Zanesville and Marvin McHenry of Roseville; 8 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Russell C. Wickham, who died November 29, 1999; and three brothers, Burl, Herbert and Sam McHenry.
Friends and family may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Monday, July 16, 2012 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 33 N MAIN ST., ROSEVILLE. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at the funeral home with Pastor Jerry Sutton officiating. Esther will be laid to rest next to her husband, Russell, at Roseville Cemetery.
