Doors Open to S. Zanesville Library
The doors to the newly renovated South Zanesville branch of the Muskingum County library are open.
The upgrades include a more open floor plan which includes an expanded computer area, plenty of outlets to plug in laptops and an early literacy station in the children’s area.
"The previous layout was 16-17 years old and had been planned and postponed when funding was reduced a couple of year’s ago, so it was over due," said Assistant Director Blair Tom.
Along with the upgrades to the inside there is also a drive thru drop off and pick up for books. Books are also categorized more like a book store with collections separated out.
"We’re so pleased with the open floor plan and the bright feel," said Tom. "One of the comments we hear as the staff comes in is how much more welcoming, how much more open and how much more brighter it is."
The community is welcome to attend an open house Wednesday February 1 from 1p.m. to 8p.m. sponsored by the Friends of the Library.
