Dorothy E. Murphy (February 2, 1937 – July 22, 2014)

ZANESVILLE
Dorothy E. Murphy, 77, of Zanesville was called home July 22, 2014 at 9:40am at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born February 2, 1937 to Albert and Bernice (Abbott) Shaw.
She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She lived her life for her family. She loved to cook and bake coffee cake for her grandchildren. She was kept young by her great-grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memory is the love of her life for 59 years, William (Joe) Murphy of the home. Three children Bill (Carol) Murphy of Zanesville, Debbie Murphy of Zanesville and Peggie Plant of Newark; six grandchildren Joseph (Sarah) Murphy of Nashport, Andrew (Abby) Murphy of Norwich, Brittany (Ryan) Byers of Nashport, Matthew Murphy of Zanesvil le, Kasey Plant of Austin, TX, Jacob Plant of Newark, Alissa and Adam Kohler of Zanesville; seven great grandchildren Miley, Bella, William, Ava and Evan Murphy, Adelyn and Marcus Byers; one brother Glen (Sue) Shaw,; four sisters Lillian Moore, Gloria Hoppsetter, Carol Gibson and Diane William. Her special “Sister” Sharon Callow and her phone buddy Sue Shaw.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her precious dog Nikki; one sister and three brothers.
Funeral services will be held at 3pm Friday July 25, 2014 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD ZANESVILLE with Rev. Dr. James Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Williams Cemetery. Friends may call 6-8 Thursday evening at the funeral home.
