Ernest Harry Moody (March 27, 1925 – December 5, 2015)

Ernest Harry Moody, 90, of Zanesville died Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Adam’s Lane Care Center. He was born March 27, 1925 in Muskingum Twp a son of the late Harry and Eunice Moody. He was a former resident of Roseville for over 40 years.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Jane (Wickham) Moody of Zanesville. He was a loving Christian husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and very caring citizen of the Roseville community.
He is survived by his children, Jerald (Jerry) (Pam) Moody of Idaho Falls, ID., Karen (Darrell) Nichols of Columbus, OH., and Russell (Lori) Moody of Bellefontaine, OH. His pride and joy of nine grandchildren. Jeremy (Christina) Davis, Jennifer Davis, Brian (Marcella) Moody, Daniel (Rafaella) Moody, Eric Moody, Sarah (Dallin) Smith, Jonathon Moody, David Moody, Elizabeth Moody. Also the joy of four great grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Robert (Marilyn) Moody, of Zanesville, Carl (Cathy) Moody of Melbourne, FL., and sister-in-law Marjorie Moody of Gallipolis. Also his church family at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Roseville, and many nieces and nephews. He loved all of these very much.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother George Moody formerly of Cheshire, OH.
Ernest served his country during WWII in the US Navy as a cook. Honorably discharged in April 1946. He retired from Owen-Brockway Glass after 41 years as a mould-maker and a member of the American Flint Glass Workers Union. He was a member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church for many years, serving the Lord in many offices such as chairman of Trustees, Administrative Board, Lay Leader. He was a member of Southern Ohio Emmaus Community. He also served in the leadership of the Roseville Boy Scouts, Troop #151, was a member of Roseville American Legion and Brockway Camping Club. In April of 2013 he went on the Honor Flight to Washington, DC.
Donations will be accepted for the St. Paul’s United Methodist church Memorial Fund for Trustees.
Calling hours will be 2-4 and 6-8pm on Wednesday December 9 at THE SNOUFFERFUNERAL HOME 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD ZANESVILLE. Funeral services will be held at 11am on Thursday at St. Paul United Methodist Church 146 Main Street Roseville with Pastor Jerry Sutton and Pastor Jeff Perry officiating. Burial will follow in Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery with full Military honors by Roseville American Legion Post 71, VFW Post 1058, and American Legion Post 29.
