Frances Morrison Gossman passed away peacefully Tuesday June 14, 2016 at Clay Gardens Place in Zanesville, Ohio.

Frances was born April 25, 1920 in Rose Farm, Ohio to the late Edward and Bertha Bailey Morrison.

As a young woman, Frances followed many of her siblings into the local potteries working for Shawnee Pottery. Her life changed when she met & married the love of her life Charles (Doc) Gossman in 1938. Together they lived through The Great Depression, time apart while Doc served his country in World War II, and a few transition years in Barberton, OH before settling in Zanesville. Frances’ last employment was serving as Store Manager for the S & H Green Stamps Redemption Center. Her personal interests included gardening, cooking, sewing, quilting and carrying Doc’s guitar from show to show but her real passion centered around anything to do with family.

Frances was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years, Charles “Doc” Gossman and is survived by her son, Craig Gossman of Covington, KY; and one granddaughter, Kathryn Gossman Boehme of Denver, CO.

In addition to her parents, Frances was preceded in death by her brothers, Arnold, Harold, Glenford, Donald and Merle; her sisters, Leota Buckley and Christine Peyton.

Calling hours will be held 10:00 –12:00 on Friday June 17 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 W. MILITARY RD., ZANESVILLE, OH. Funeral Services will be held in The Snouffer Chapel with burial following in Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
