Esop Is Helping Cut Through The Red Tape

Dealing with a home foreclosure can be a discouraging and seemingly endless process. But one group is determined to help.

ESOP which stands for, Empowering and Strengthening Ohio’s People is a community agency with a focus on foreclosures. They help home-owners put together a loan modification application and work with the lenders.

"We also have negotiators in Cleveland assigned to all the major lenders, so we have one-on-one contact with each lender and we can penetrate the bureaucracy homeowners run up against when they go to modify their home loans," says Shane Lightle the Southern Ohio Manager for ESOP

Lightle says the loan modification paperwork can be up to two hundred pages of forms and is meant to wear down the home-owner. But he says, that is why ESOP is there to help.

"No matter what your lenders process is we can adapt and we can get you through that process successfully," says Lightle.

While it may be hard to ask for help, Lightle says the sooner you ask the better. ESOP has an 85% success rate in keeping people in their homes.

To make an appointment with ESOP stop by their office in the Masonic Temple at 38 North Fourth Street in Zanesville or call the local office for help at 740-617-4228.
