Update On Bag Of Hair Found In Junction City

We have new details to report in the case involving a bag of hair found in a Perry County home.

Junction City Police Chief Amy English said clinical examination of the hair has determined that it’s a mixture of multiple people and contained both head and body hair.  The bag of hair was found last fall at 505 East Main Street.  Relatives discovered the bag after the 71-year-old male homeowner was placed in a nursing home in Columbus.

Since then, three different and experienced cadaver dogs have searched the property for evidence of human remains.  All three dogs strongly indicated human remains were near an area in front of the mobile home.  On July 30, agents from the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation assisted the Junction City Police Department in the excavation of the property.

No remains were discovered.  The hair was turned over to BCI agents for chemical and DNA analysis.  The investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to call the Junction City Police Department at (740) 987-5511.
