Perry County Judge Dean Wilson Charged With Ovi, Hit And Skip

"They walk away with a better understanding of the judicial system, a better understanding of the consequences of drunk driving, and will be better citizens for the country."

Those were the words of Perry County Court Judge Dean Wilson during a drunk driving trial that was held at New Lexington High School three years ago where Wilson was trying to educate the students on the dangers of drinking and driving. But now it appears the judge may not be practicing what he preaches.

Columbus Police and Franklin County Municipal Court records show Judge Wilson was arrested in the arena district of Columbus on Sunday after his car hit a COTA bus around 9:30 p.m.

Police say he then took off from the scene and is currently facing charges of a hit and skip as well as OVI charges which are both misdemeanors. Records show that Wilson posted bond. He is due in court on Wednesday, September 10.
