Fatal Shooting In Cambridge

The Cambridge Police Department say a woman is dead after she was shot in an apparent domestic dispute. It happened Tuesday evening at a Madison Avenue home on the city’s south side. Chief Randy LePage says police received a 9-1-1 call last night just before 11:30 from Amy Wilson. She reported a male was in her house with a gun and was going to shoot her. Wilson was able to identify the male during the call. When officers arrived Wilson was found dead from a gunshot wound. In a separate 9-1-1 call received shortly after the first call placed by the victim, an 11-year-old child called to say his mom had been shot. When officers arrived the child was missing from the home. He was found later unharmed. Police received a tip and arrested the suspect at his parent home around 7:30 a.m. Wednesday in Noble County. Police says the exact motive for this crime has not yet been determined, but there is a history of domestic dispute involving the suspect and the victim and a child custody hearing recently occurred. Guernsey County Prosecutor Dan Padden is reviewing the case for possible charges which is expected to occur Thursday. The name of the suspect will not be released until his is formally charged with a crime.
