A local Church Finally gets its Steeple

A local church finished a project 35 years in the making.

A steeple was placed on top of Trinity Full Gospel Church today. The 49-foot steeple is constructed of fiberglass with a wooden base. Pastor Terry Rowland said the church was intended to have a steeple and they are finally making it a reality.

“We built the church in 1979 and the original drawings had a steeple on top of it but we never put a steeple on it so it’s been 35 years,” said Rowland.

A crane was necessary to lift the steeple to the church, with help to guide the final piece in place. It cost about $3,000 to construct the steeple and complete the project.

“The cross on top of the steeple has always been symbolic of things of the kingdom of god and it just speaks of hope,” said Rowland.”When people see that steeple, I think it speaks of hope. ”

The newly constructed steeple can be seen at the church on Munson Avenue in South Zanesville.
