ZANESVILLE, OH – A local veteran took off on October 24th to go on an Honor Flight trip.

Friends, family, and staff members gathered around at The Oaks at Northpointe to send Robert Dale Bailey on a flight to Washington DC. Bailey, a veteran and resident at The Oaks at Northpointe, will have the chance to view all the monuments and memorials while paying respect for those he has served along with. The Life Enrichment Director, Deidra Hassle, explained why Bailey was chosen for this amazing opportunity.

“Talking to him. We go around and we get to know our residents and just through conversation with him. Him being a veteran. You know, just talking with him,” Hassle said.

This unforgettable journey to DC was made possible through Trilogy, an organization that helps residents live their dreams by providing financial support.

“It means the World. I mean, that’s why Trilogy’s such a good company to work for. They do so much for the residents and the smile on their face and seeing how much they appreciate it. I mean, it just makes everything worth it,” Legacy Link Coordinator, Effie Burchfield said.

Bailey and his wife will be spending the next 3 days exploring DC before returning home to Ohio.
