After Fair Comes Clean Up

For six days people ride, play games, eat, and make a mess. The Muskingum County Fair Grounds collects garbage each year.

After the week of fun comes a lot of work to clean up the area. It takes approximately two weeks to clear the grounds. It all starts with John Friendsly’s trash company. They’ll pick up beginning Sunday morning.

“We’re very fortunate,” said Fair Board Director Doug Guinsler. “We have a lot of good local support. We’ve got 12 Directors on the board that manages the fair but if it wasn’t for all the other people that step in and help us with the Tractor Pulls, the Harness Racing and everything that goes on at the fair. 4-H is full of volunteers, so we’re very very fortunate and it makes a good fair.”

But until clean up… fun at the fair continues through Saturday evening.
