All Aboard: Model Train Open House Rolls Into Zanesville

ZANESVILLE, OH – A fun and unique event is pulling into downtown Zanesville this weekend.
The Zane Trace National Trail Model Railroad Club is opening its doors April 18th and 19th for a spring open house. Inside, you’ll find detailed miniature worlds, moving trains, and scenes that bring railroading to life.
“There’s not many Railroad Clubs left. This is probably one of the best, as far as scenic, in the state. Also, this is the 50th year of this club being in existence.” Treasurer ZTNT, Rick Gooden, said.
There’s no entry fee to attend, but donations are appreciated. Visitors can explore the displays, see the club’s newest additions, and even take part in a fun scavenger hunt while getting an up-close look at the craftsmanship behind each layout.
“There’s a lot of scenery that wasn’t there before. There’s a lady that does scavenger hunts, and there’s things to go find that people will really have to look for. It entertains the kids, and believe it or not, it entertains the adults just as much.” Gooden said.
The open house runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 24 South 6th Street in downtown Zanesville.
