Allison Weeks Named ArtCOZ Artist of the Month

ZANESVILLE, OH – Allison Weeks has been named the ArtCOZ Artist of the Month for November.
Weeks began her art career three years ago and has come a long way in such a short time.
She’s best known for her pet portraits and she said she enjoys painting them because she likes to capture all the little details, from the pets eye color to every last whisker.
“I like to do just the pet’s face and I like to be able to see the pet’s eyes.” Weeks said. “That’s typically what the commissions are for, these ones are just a little bit more funky. They’re bourbon themed, I do pets in the like if the person is a doctor, I’ll do the pet in scrubs, so I’ve had a lot of different requests like that, so those are fun and those are my favorite.”
For the First Friday Artwalk Weeks will be set up at Taste of Ohio Wine, Bourbon, and Beer from 5 to 8PM.
She said if you’re unable to stop by for the Artwalk, Taste of Ohio will have her art on display for the rest of the month.
Weeks also talked about what it means to her to be named as the Artist of the Month.
“It’s just really humbling that there are so many fantastic artists here in town and they’re also kind and gracious.” Weeks said. “So that’s probably why I get to do this. I really didn’t know anybody in the art community over three years ago and I’ve just really enjoyed getting to know everybody.”
If you’re unable to make it to Taste of Ohio Wine, Bourbon, and Beer, you can see more of Weeks’ work by heading to her Facebook page.
