Amicone to Expand Fieldhouse Campus
Fieldhouse expansion efforts are in the works, after owner Mick Amicone announced this week the acquisition of approximately 3.5 acres of land.
The land, adjacent to the company’s campus at the Sunrise Center, doubles the facility and provides 1,200 linear feet of interstate 70 frontage.
“We’re really excited to bring this to the southeastern Ohio community, and obviously as you can see to my left 77,500 cars, the best visibility and advertisement for our new opportunity… it’s going to happen here real soon, hopefully,” Amicone said. “We’ve doubled our campus and the exciting thing about that for us is 28 years later we’re going to be able to provide opportunities for blue-collar folks at an affordable price, and because of our sponsors some for even free.”
Amicone said future plans are to add a water feature for able-bodied and special needs use, an outdoor fitness trail, as well as an array of other amenities.
“We want to do something for able-bodied kids and families, and all these travelers going up and down I-70 during the warm months, but we also want to do something for our Fieldhouse Foundation, all of our special needs kids, and all the kids who are traveling up and down I-70, in between Columbus and Pittsburgh everyday, looking for a motel spot or a restaurant spot, we want to give them a rest spot to do something for an evening,” Amicone said.
Amicone said he hopes to have a long-term plan for the project complete by next year.
