Pet of the Week: Dexter the Pittbull Puppy
ZANESVILLE, OH – This week’s Animal Shelter Society Pet of The Week is full of love and puppy energy.
Dexter is a 3-month-old male Pitbull. He is full of charming personality and infectious enthusiasm, Dexter is an ideal companion for someone who loves an active lifestyle.
“He’s going to need a place to run a little bit. He’s going to have to run off that energy. I’m not saying that he’s not going to like kids, but you’re just going to have to make sure they’re not little ones because he’s going to knock them down because he’s so happy to see everybody,” Animal Shelter Society Executive Director, April Gibson said.
Community Pancake Day, held on November 15th, was a huge success. The event drew a crowd of over 4,000 people to support local non-profits like the Animal Shelter.
“It’s very important for us non-profits because we wanted to serve our community because our community is who serves us. We couldn’t do this without them. We’re very thankful,” Gibson said.
The shelter will be closed to the public next week from Thursday through Sunday, allowing staff and volunteers to celebrate Thanksgiving.
