Animal Shelter Society Pet of the Week: Meet Boone!

ZANESVILLE, OH – This Week’s Pet of the Week is a fan favorite among the staff and they want to see him in a good home!
Meet Boone! He’s a 9-year-old beagle, terrier mix, who’s neutered, up to date on his vaccinations, and is ready for his forever home.
April Gibson, the Executive Director of the Animal Shelter Society, says they usually don’t have favorites at the Shelter but Boone is the one exception to that rule.
“We’re not supposed to have favorites here. Me, as the Executive Director, I do and it’s Boone, he’s just such a great dog.” Gibson said. “He was adopted out, it was a great family, Boone’s just like people, you and me, everyone that’s watching WHIZ right now, there’s some people, you know, we want to hang out with and there’s some we don’t and so he is dog selective. That caused a problem and they brought him back, he’s 9-years-old but you would never know that. ”
Gibson says Boone would do best in a home where he is the only dog and children over the age of 10, because he still can let out some puppy energy and pull younger kids.
The Shelter is also getting ready for the Inaugural Bark, Bourbon, and Leaf at A Taste of Ohio Win, Bourbon, and Beer going on this evening.
There are still some tickets available for $35 at the door and that covers some light refreshments as well as your cigar, all to help out animals like Boone.
“Angela Bailey and her husband, wonderful, highly recommend, go local and let these folks help you. It’s just been unbelievable, she’s accepted it and we’re just running with it.” Gibson said. “Beau Moyer is the Chair of the event for us and he’s on the board, he’s done an amazing job bringing folks together.”
Gibson also says for fans of the Feral Feline brunches, a Wicked Whiskers theme brunch is coming to A Taste of Ohio on October 24th, so stay tuned to the Animal Shelter for more details.
