Antill Signs With Arizona State

When it comes to student-athletes, Tri-Valley track and field star Kaylee Antill is the total package. Antill’s hard work came to fruition on Tuesday in Dresden as she signed a letter of intent to continue her throwing career at Arizona State University.

A bevy of schools wanted Antill. By her count, she received 10 Division I offers, ultimately choosing the Pac-12 school over Purdue, Michigan, Penn State and Louisiana State. She joins 10 fellow recruits as part of Arizona State’s latest class.

Antill’s versatility as a thrower is one-of-a-kind. As a junior, she won the Ohio State Hammer Competition and finished runner-up at the state meet in both discus and shot put.

On top of her athletic accomplishments, the Scottie carries a 4.0 GPA and plans to major in biomedical engineering. Antill will likely redshirt her freshman season and stay on scholarship for five years as a Sun Devil.

She was quick to give credit to her high school for preparing her for the next level both academically and athletically.

"Being at Tri-Valley, you know that both (academics and athletics) are very important," Antill said. "It’s nice that the coaches (at Tri-Valley) understand that we take school first… Making time for throwing is something I’ve been lucky to have."
