Application Open for Muskingum County Community Youth Foundation Membership

ZANESVILLE, OH – Exciting news for high school students in Muskingum County!

The Muskingum County Community Youth Foundation has released applications for its 2024 membership. This unique program offers an incredible opportunity for local high schoolers to engage in team-building activities, strengthen their leadership skills, and participate in community projects.

“The Community Youth Foundation is an organization made of selected high school students from every high school in Muskingum County. We participate in a lot of service events for the community. We do a lot of collaboration with other non-profit organizations, mostly to benefit other youth in Muskingum County. Sometimes we do things just for the community at large. We also have fundraisers throughout the year so we can get money back for our annual grant program. I think that’s what makes us stand out from other high school groups is we raise money to help give money back,” CYF Advisor Christy Rahrig said.

CYF members meet once a month throughout the school year. Applications are now available on the CYF website and must be submitted by Friday, September 27th at 5 PM.

“My favorite part of CYF is truly meeting people from other high schools and learning what they have to bring to the table. Every high schooler has a different aspect in their life and a different background. Meeting every single background allows you to have a broader grasp of what everyone else around you needs. I guess knowing everyone allows me to be better at serving my community and knowing what other people need,” President of CYF Chris Wilson said.
