Area church gives back

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Generosity is an often underappreciated quality but for one local church, it is that same quality which not only allows them to stay afloat, but also thrive.
Despite having a smaller membership than most, New Covenant Church prides itself on the quality rather than quantity of its members.
“We have corporate sponsors, we have local businesses and the people that come into this church are very generous,” said Samantha Puterbaugh, New Covenant Church member. “One of the reasons we’re able to do the things we do is because we have a large fellowship in this community and they just pour in.”
This summer, New Covenant is intending to return the favor by hosting a handful of family-friendly events to community members. Events will include outdoor activities such as sack races, corn hole, a watermelon eating contest and much more.
“It’s nice to have something that goes on that everybody can be included in,” said Puterbaugh. “A lot of times when you see events, they’re geared more toward small children or adults so it’s important to have something that incorporates the whole family.”
New Covenant also recognizes that times can be tough financially and that is why all of their events will be free of charge.
“We don’t do anything here at New Covenant that would ever be of cost to a family,” said Puterbaugh. “The goal is to be a blessing and for families to have fellowship, food, fun and to make new friends.”
